ISLAMABAD: “It’s the responsibility of everyone to ensure peace within the country,” chief of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Sami-ul-Haq (JUI-S) said during a press conference, Aaj News reports.
According to the sources, the first session of peace talks with Taliban took place in Islamabad which was attended by Mualana Sami-ul-Haq, Maualana Abdul Aziz and Professor Ibrahim.
Primary focus of the meeting was to discuss about the strategies of communication between the both committees. Maulana Sami-ul-Haq , while addressing the media conference said that Imran Khan wanted to conduct peace talks with Taliban from the very beginning. And, therefore, my party is looking forward for his participation.
He also mentioned that he will initiate peace talks with complete cooperation and considerations with their counterparts. “We cannot give a specific time frame for all the issues to be resolved. However, we ensure that we will try our best.”
He further commented that there is no particular list of demands Taliban have provided to them, but, it is mentioned that Yousaf Shah will be the committee’s coordinator.
