PESHAWAR: Four women were killed and five others including a child sustained injuries as suicide bomber in a bid to avoid his arrest by the police party, exploded himself up near a house at village Essakhel on Pandu Road in the outskirts of the City.
Additional Inspector General of Police (AIG), Shafqat Malik told reporters that four women have been killed and five others including a child sustained injuries in the suicide blast near a house at Jamil Chowk in the limit of Chamkani police station.
He said body parts of the bomber have been found and investigation was underway, adding five to six kilograms explosives has been used.
Police said raid was conducted in the area upon receiving information regarding the presence of suspicious persons and during the operation a suicide bomber detonated his explosives near the house in fear of being caught.
Police said women were present at the house where a function was underway at the time of explosion.
The dead identified are Shahida daughter of Shah Faisal, Taj Bibi wife of Rehman, Dil Ara wife of Ameerzada and Shabeena daughter of Gulzar.
The injured are six year old Tahir, Fauzia daughter of Mukhtair, Basri wife of Guldad, Khalida wife of Tahir and Tayyaba.
