KARACHI: Jinnah Post Graduate Medical Centre (JPMC) has declared emergency following explosion targeting a police bus near Razzaqabad Police Training College in Shah Latif Town here on Thursday.
Deputy Executive Director and in-charge, JPMC Emergency and Accident Department told APP that 13 dead were brought to the hospital.
This, she said were besides 47 wounded mainly comprising the trainees alongwith a few civilians. All of them were said to have been hospitalized.
In reply to a question, she said there is no shortage of blood nor of any other needed medical supply while doctors and other relevant staff is also readily available.
To another query, Dr Seemien Jamali said 10 of the injured are in critical condition.
“Some of them have already been sent for needed surgical intervention,” she said.
About the injured civilians, she said they were the by-standers waiting for transport at the thoroughfare running parallel to the police training college, where the incident occurred.
Meanwhile Karachi police has confirmed death of 11 of its men including Sheraz, Ashiq, Halim, Adil, Sajid, Dost Ali, Yaseen, M.Ali, Saleem, Sarafaraz and Gulshan.
The injured were named as Khadim, Saddam, Asad, Ghaus Ali, Aashiq, A Razzaq, Ashfaq, SK Rana, Aqal Dad, Waqar Raza, Kmaran, Ahmad Hasan, A Basit, Waqar Ahmed, Nazeer Noman, Sajjad, Bilawal, Mazhar, M Hussain, M Eisa, Haleem, Nawaz, Humair, Janib Ali, Ghulam Ali, M Israr, Naveed, Fareed, Farhan, Ahmed, Ajmal, Ahsan, Arshad, Yousus,
