KARACHI: Police recovered two explosive-laden cars and arrested six terrorists who belonged to a banned outfit,whereas Chief Minister of Sindh Qaim Ali Shah praised the police and BDS officials for making these plans unsuccessful and keeping the city safe, Aaj News reported.
According to IG Sindh Iqbal Mehmood, police officials followed a specific lead in regard to a terror attack and presence of terrorist in different areas of the city. Police raided Maripur area from where they arrested two people on doubtful suspect, out of which one person named Fareed Mehsood confessed to belong to a terrorist group. He was then shifted to an unknown location. Police also seized 120-kg explosive-laden vehicle which was immediately diffused by the Bomb Disposal Squad.
According to BDS official, the explosives found from the car were planted by a very experienced person. “It seems to me that the arrested person are very experienced and known with these explosives.”, said an official.
On the other hand, Shah Latif police raided Steel Town area from where they arrested four terrorists who were planning to cause a huge damage. Police also seized 50-kg explosive-laden vehicle from their possession.
