ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court has ordered IG Punjab to submit a detailed report against the “Panchayat” decision of gang rape of a 40-year-old woman in revenge for her brother’s alleged affair in Muzaffargarh, Aaj News reported.
Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Tassaduq Hussain Jillan with three-member-bench took notice on a press report published in a section of press. According to the Additional Advocate General said, ” 10 people are involved in this particular crime out of which nine has been taken into custody and one has been released on bail.”
The report submitted by the DPO police has been rejected by the court whereas Justice Sheikh Azmat submitted his remarks and said that the report submission was asked by the IG of Punjab police, not from DPO. “He should have been taken this case seriously. DPO does not stand for IG.”, said Tassaduq Hussain Jillani
The case has been adjourned for 10 day and the Supreme Court has asked the IG of Punjab to submit a detailed report in the next hearing.
