ISLAMABAD: President Mamnoon Hussain Friday said Pakistan desired to further strengthen the strategic partnership and bilateral cooperation in all fields with Saudi Arabia for the mutual benefit of people of two countries.
He was talking to Prince Sultan bin Salman Bin Abdulaziz al- saud, Chairman Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia here at the Aiwan-e-Sadr.
Pakistan-Saudi Arabia bilateral relations, ways and means to enhance bilateral tourism and cultural cooperation and matters of mutual interest were discussed during the meeting.
The President emphasized the need for concerted steps by both sides to explore the huge potential of bilateral trade and investment in various areas.
He said these areas include infrastructure, energy, tourism and culture, archaeological heritage and handicraft and invited the Saudi investors to invest in these sectors and avail the liberal incentive packages being offered by the present government for investment in the country.
Commenting on bilateral ties, the President said that Pakistan and Saudi Arabia enjoy close and cordial ties deep-rooted in common faith, traditions and commonality of views on all issues of mutual interest and based on mutual trust and understanding.
The President said Pakistan offered huge natural tourism potential and urged increased cooperation between Pakistan Tourism departments and museums and the Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities (SCTA).
The president also stressed promoting archaeological arts and handicrafts, tourism and people to people contacts between the two countries.
The President thanked King Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz and the Saudi government for the generous support to the government and people of Pakistan in every hour of need and testing times.
The people of Pakistan highly revered Khadim Al-Harmain Al- Sharifain King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz and held him in the highest regard, the President said.
Noting the presence of large 1.5 million Pakistani community in Saudi Arabia, the President said they served as a bridge of friendship between the two countries and expressed hope that this bridge would continue to expand and strengthen to the mutual benefit of two countries.
The President also appreciated the role of Sultana Foundation in education sector in Pakistan.
The President conveyed on his own behalf and behalf of the people of Pakistan, prayers and good wishes for the good health and long life of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques His Majesty King Abdullah as well as for progress and prosperity of people of the Kingdom.
Prince Sultan Bin Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud was accompanied by his son Abdullah Al-Sheikh and Saudi Ambassador in Pakistan Abdul Aziz bin Ibrahim bin Salih Al-Ghadeer.
