JAMSHORO: Sindh Education Minister, Nisar Ahmed Khuhro has said that registration would be cancelled of those private schools where the Sindhi subject was not being taught. He said this while talking to media on the occasion of Cultural program held at Government Girls Middle School Telegraph Kotri on Wednesday.
“All members of Sindh Assembly are supporting me on this issue”, he said adding the issue of not teaching Sindhi subject prevailed since 1997.
There are about 15000 to 20000 private schools across the province and out of them, only 500 schools are not teaching Sindhi Subject in their classes, he said.
The strict notice of the issue was already taken because the teaching any student in his or her mother tongue is very necessary, he said.
The government is making all efforts to open the closed schools in the province, he said adding according to the report, there are about 4000 to 5000 schools are closed.
Around 3144 closed schools would be reopened immediately and staff and other necessary material would also be provided there, he said.
In this regards, he directed all concerned officers to submit report while reopening the closed schools as the government can arrange all things needed for them there, he said.
Better education can be possible when the teacher and other staff of Education department started to perform their due role and this would also help them to recover the confidence of parents, he claimed.
“We are making all efforts to improve literacy rate among girls, he said adding an educated woman can educate her children in a better way.
He further said that the government was providing free education from five years to 16 years across the province.
Earlier, District Education Officer Jamshoro, Allah Bachayo Khaskhely and Head Mistress, Mahar-u-Nisa also spoke on the occasion. Later, students of different schools delivered speeches and also presented songs.
