KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah has directed the Inspector General of Sindh Police to provide full security to all media houses in Karachi and ensure that the employees, equipment, vehicles and other assets of these organization were safe and secure.
This he directed while talking with media managers of Aaj, ARY TV channels and English daily Business Recorder, while visiting their offices in Karachi last night to express his solidarity with them on account of recent terrorist attacks on their offices.
Special Assistants Waqar Mehdi and Rashid Rabani and Police officers accompanied the Chief Minister during the visit.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister termed the media houses as the mirrors of the society and fastest means of communication.
He said that the attacks on media houses revealed that the terrorists were the enemy of all segments of society. He said that all media managers, society and political parties are on same page against terrorism and that is the reason they are targetting media houses, he added.
He said that his government was enjoying friendly relationship with media organizations and had provided security, as and when demanded by any individual or organizations.
He asked the police officials to evolve strategy in consultation with media managers for their security.
The Chief Minister expressed sympathies with two injured employees of the Business Recorder house. Later he visited Aaj News and ARY News channels and expressed his solidarity with the staff and assured full security to their satisfaction.
