ISLAMABAD: Director General UNESCO Irina Bokova says the United Nations will continue supporting Pakistan government’s policies to increases access to education, especially for girls.
Talking to Radio Pakistan on Friday, she said the best investment in Pakistan’s future is to invest in education.
She said Pakistan’s sixty percent population is under the age of twenty-five, which is a huge asset with education and training, their energies can be harnessed for development of the country.
She said that UNESCO is helping Pakistan with various projects, including preparing the people to face calamity in areas prone to floods.
She also appreciated the role of Radio Pakistan in reaching the people in far flung areas of the country.
Irina Bokova expressed gratitude for the award of Hilal-i-Pakistan in recognition of her services for the people in Pakistan.
