Lahore: People across Punjab continue to suffer due to prolonged power outages, which has ruined their lives, Aaj News reported.
10 to 18 hours loadshedding in the Punjab province has paralyzed the life in the province.
According to NTDC officials, country’s electricity generation capacity is 9,350MW and the total requirement was around 11,750MW, increasing the shortfall to 2400.
In the provincial capital, the lives of citizens have totally been a mess just because of prolonged power outages. In different areas of the Provincial Capital Lahore, an hourly load shedding was taking place after every hour.
In all big and small cities of Punjab including, Faisalabad, Faisalabad, Sahiwal, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Shaikupura, Mandi Bahauddin, Bahawaulpur, Sargodha, Hafizabad and Rajanpur load shedding for 14-16 hours was being observed whereas rural areas were more severely hit, with the time exceeding to 18 hours.
Prolonged hours of load shedding also caused water shortage and tube-wells stopped working, adversely affecting the agricultural lands.
