MITHI: Chief Minister Sindh’s Coordinator for Thar-Relief Taj Hairder has said that rations bags had been supplied to 1,40000 families by now and relief goods would be provided among poor families according to the list prepared in 2011.
Addressing a press conference at the Deputy Commissioner’s House here on Thursday he said that 259000 poor families were registered in the list while on the whole 1.5 million people live in Tharparkar while 40 mobile medical teams were in action. Besides a team consisted of 12 doctors including 4 females doctors, from Kyber Pakhtunkwa had arrived said Taj Haider.
Chief Minister Balochistan has dispatched 3 trucks of rice, Taj Hyder told the press. 90 percent districts health centers have been restored he added and said that medicines with medical staffs were present in the Hospital and elected parliamentarians were reviewing the situation day and night.
He further said over 0.5 million cattle heads were vaccinated and there was no shortage of grains however, fodder was short.
He said thousands of people including Government of Sindh NGOs were assisting for the drought-hit people in Thar.
On the occasion, senior member Board of Revenue Relief, commissioner Alamudding told the media that Rs 50 million for movement and delivering of wheat had been issued. Earlier Rs 3 million were provided.
