ISLAMABAD: Directorate of Health Services (DHS) of CDA is vigorously active to eliminate the availability of sub-standard, adulterated and un-hygienic food stuff from the Capital city.
Directorate of Health Services has been carrying on its successful campaign against sub-standard and un-hygienic eatables in the city for quite some time.
In line with the directions of Member Administration strong and on the spot action as per law is being taken against the violators of the principles of public health and the relevant laws.
Moreover, zero tolerance is being shown towards the food handlers who don’t follow the law and repeatedly violate the law. The DHS is further trying that all food handlers must wear proper dress i.e caps, aprons and gloves etc.
The DHS teams during last week conducted several operations in this regard in different areas of Islamabad.
During this activity 89 notices and 24 challans were issued while one hotel was partially sealed. Similarly 30 packets of soft drinks, 200 liters expired juices and utensils including kettles and cups were confiscated. The confiscated food stuff and utensils were done away
Directorate of Health Services is conducting this campaign by two specially constituted teams, each led by food inspector and supervised by a health officer, while Director Health Services personally looks after the performance of the field teams.
