HYDERABAD: Senior Sindh Education and Literacy Development Minister Nisar Ahmed Khuhro has said that all out efforts with effective measures are being made to provide maximum relief to drought affected people of Tharparkar.
Talking to media persons after a ceremony Sindh Education Improvement Plan held here on Saturday evening, the minister said Tharparkar is the important part of Sindh and the people have deep sentiments with their area therefore they are not ready to leave their houses despite famine.
Sindh government had already provided sufficient quantity of wheat in the district and the local administration is responsible to judiciously pass on it to the people, he said and added that the government is making all out efforts to overcome the situation at the earliest.
Earlier, addressing the ceremony, the minister underlined the need of combined efforts for improvement of education system of the province. Out of 41 thousand schools, 15 to 20 thousand education institutions are being operated in private sector and there is the need to focus on quality education, he added.
The minister on the occasion, appealed to the retired teachers and youth to spare their free time in imparting education.
Among others, MNA Syed Naveed Qamar, Chairperson Sindhi Language Authroity Dr. Fehmida Hussain, former Vice Chancellor University of Sindh Pir Mazhar-ul-Siddiqui, Dr. Habibullah Siddiqui, Qadir Bux Talbani and Dr. Parveen Munshi also addressed the participants of the gathering.
