ISLAMABAD: Mobilink Foundation has launched a relief operation in Tharparker to provide more than 8,000 famine affectees with food supplies.
The food supplies will be transported to Tharparker by Pakistan Navy.
Head of Corporate Communication, Omar Manzur on Thursday said Mobilink Torchbearers took the step to reach out our fellow Pakistanis and hoped others will follow suit to extend maximum support to them in this hour of need.
He said in first phase of the relief operation, Mobilink Foundation would transport food packages which include water and basic edibles for daily consumption of famine affectees.
Mobilink Torchbearers have also established collection centers in Mobilink offices in Sindh to collect donations, clothes and other supplies to support the families in Tharparker.
These supplies and donations will be sent to the affected region in the second phase of relief operations. He said the relief efforts are reflective of Mobilink’s continued commitment over the years to be the first to reach out to affectees of natural disasters in Pakistan.
In the past, Mobilink Torchbearers have provided monetary as well as relief work assistance to victims of earthquake in 2005 and floods in 2010.
In 2013, Mobilink Torchbearers personally take food and basic supplies to victims of the Awaran Earthquake.
