PESHAWAR: Pakistan Tahrik-e-Inaf President Khyber Pakthunkhwa, Azam Khan Swati said Monday that appearance of former President General (Retd ) Pervez Musharaf before Special Court was a positive development.
“Gen (Retd) Musharraf appearance before the three members bench of the Special Court in high treason case is a positive development,” said Azam Swati while addressing a press conference here at Press Club.
Several political workers of different political parties on this occasion announced joining of PTI in his presence.
He said his party firmly supported dialogue process with Tahrik-e- Taliban Pakistan with a prime objective for ensuring durable peace in the country.
He said operations were no solutions to problems, adding Pakistan Tahrik e Inaf from day one advocated for dialogue for long lasting peace and eradicating menace of terrorism.
Azam said dialogue was panacea of all existing law and order issues and expressed the hope that it would yield very positive results.
The All Parties Conference had given a clear mandate to the Government to hold dialogue with those, who accept the writ of the Government and Constitution. The Government’s dialogue strategy was appreciated in all circles even abroad, he added.
He said the PTI government was ready for holding of Local Bodies Elections and would soon be held in a transparent and free atmosphere. He said efforts were being made to arrange LG elections under biometric system.
Responding to a query, he said reshuffle in Provincial Cabinet was made through democratic method keeping in view the performance of advisors and ministers and there should be no objections over it.
Parliamentary Secretary to Chief Minister for Forest, Fazal Elahi, MPA Mehmood Jan, Provincial Party General Secretary Khalid Masood and others party workers were present on the occasion.
