Islamabad: Former president Pervez Musharraf should not be termed as a ‘traitor’, he has suspended the constitution, stated by Prosecutor Akram Sheikh, Aaj News reported on Monday.
During the proceedings of treason case, Prosecutor Akram Sheikh has said that Musharraf must not be termed as a traitor, he has unlawfully suspended the constitution by taking part in politics.
He further said that Musharraf had been elected as the Army Chief and promised that he would never take part in politics, but has broken the constitution by taking part in politics, so he should not be termed as a ‘traitor’.
Prosecutor Akram said that he prays for the good health of Musharraf’s mother.
Moreover, media quotes Musharraf as saying during the proceedings,”I am being called a traitor, I have been chief of army staff for nine years and I have served this army for 45 years. I have fought two wars and it is ‘treason’?”
