MUZAFFARGARH: Punjab Chief Minister, Shehbaz Sharif took strict action against the police officials who mistreated the gang-rape case of an 18-year-old girl, who died due to burning injuries yesterday, whereas offered a compensation cheque of five lac to the victim’s family, Aaj News reported.
According to the sources, Shehbaz Sharif visited the family of the victim and showed his deepest concern and sorrow for the loss. Shehbaz Sharif also presented the family with a compensation cheque of five lac and prayed for her departed soul.
On the other hand, Shehbaz Sharif dismissed the DPO from his position, arrested the DSP for not taking any action regarding the incident and releasing the doubtful culprits, whereas designated RPO as OSD.
It is pertinent to know that an 18-year-old girl, who was a student of 1st year, was gang-raped. She and her family registered a case against the accused, but the police officials released the culprits and claimed their clearance in the case, due to which the girl burnt herself in front of Bait Mir Hazar Police Station. She was immediately shifted to Nishtar Hospital, where she later succumbed to her burning injuries.
