MITHI: The District Government Tharparkar in collaboration with the Livestock Department Sindh has devised a comprehensive programme for administering vaccines to livestock.
According to details released by the district government, under this program, the vaccine would be administered to more than 4.5 million livestock, including buffalos, cows, sheep, goats, camels, horses and donkeys. The district government has so far vaccinated 1.9 million livestock with the support of the Livestock Department.
According to recent observation, viral diseases had mostly attacked sheep in the district and out of total 1.1 million sheep in the district, more than 0.4 million sheep were vaccinated.
The process of administering vaccines has been expedited as the remaining sheep could be covered as soon as possible and for this purpose, 15 mobile teams are working.
The district administration further said that under the directive of the Chief Minister Sindh, free fodder is being provided to livestock.
