THARPARKAR: Pakistan Army Helicopters has started the distribution of the relief goods for drought hit people in far flung and inaccessible areas of Tharparkar district, Aaj News reports.
According to the reports, Pak army Helicopters started relief operations in most affected districts of Tharparkar which included Chachro, Khero, Munjhero and many others.
According to ISPR Hyderabad, 1800kg of relief-goods were delivered to the victims which included flour, rice, pulses, cooking oil and other essential goods in the drought hit area.
Besides dropping the ration bags through helicopters, the relief operation in the towns and villages where the communication facility is available is being carried out with full swing, the spokesman added that medical and paramedical staff of Army including lady doctors are also busy in providing medical aid to drought hit people of Tharparkar.
It is pertinent to know that most areas of Sindh’s Tharparkar districts are facing a famine-like situation,whereas at least 172 malnourished children are reported dead up till now . About 175,000 families are reported to have been affected and some of them have been forced to leave their homes and move to barrage areas.
