KARACHI: The Supreme Court has ordered the concerned authorities to appoint IG Sindh by March 28, Aaj News reported on Friday.
A three-judge bench of the apex court headed by the Chief Justice of Pakistan, Tasadduq Hussain Jilani, and comprising of Justice Khilji Arif Hussain and Justice Amir Hani Muslim heard the Karachi law and order case at the Karachi Registry.
The bench had told the government to fill the post by 11:30am today, however, this deadline was extended by one week. But AG told CJP that Sindh CM has reservation on three names provided by federal government and asked for one week’s time.
In response, the apex court granted one week’s time to the Sindh Government for appointment of IG Sindh.
