KARACHI: Sindh Cabinet approved additional budget of Rs5bn to help Sindh Police purchase contemporary weapons while expressing satisfaction over Karachi’s operation, Aaj News reported.
At the meeting, presided by Chief Minister Sindh Qaim Ali Shah, the Provincial Cabinet endorsed the decisions taken by National Security Council. While expressing satisfaction over Karachi operation, the Cabinet also approved to release additional budget of Rs5bn for the Sindh Police, which would be utilized in the purchase of latest weapons and bullet proof jackets.
Sindh Cabinet was told most of the wanted criminals in Lyari have been killed and the rest have escaped the area. Chief Minister Sindh directed that relief operations in Thar will continue for more three months.
Chief Secretary Sindh was ordered to submit a report relating to the two-month delay in wheat distribution in Thar. The Administration was directed to make functional all the water plants in Thar and install hand pumps in the affected areas.
