Islamabad: Former president Pervez Musharraf has been indicted in the treason case under hearing by the special court, denied all the charges leveled against him, Aaj News reported on Monday.
According to the reports, Musharraf is accused of treason under Article 6 for suspending, subverting and abrogating the Constitution, imposing an emergency in the country in November 2007 and detaining judges of the superior courts.
He has rejected all the charges leveled against him.
A three member bench headed by Justice Faisal Arab is hearing the treason case against Pervez Musharraf.
During today’s hearing, Pervez Musharraf has said that he does not expect justice from present rulers.
Musharraf also said that he gave 44 years of his life to Pakistan Army and made defense invincible, adding that he gave repute and progress to this country, does it mean treason?
Advocate Farogh Nasim pleaded to the court to let Musharraf visit his mother, who is said to be critical in a hospital in UAE.
The Special court’s results have yet to be reported.
