ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Reforms Ahsan Iqbal on Tuesday said that the government was committed to focus on urban planing to save national identity, history and cultural heritage through modern architectural trends.
Addressing at the Mehdi Ali Mirza Award Ceremony organized by Institute of Architect Pakistan (IAP) here, Ahsan said that Pakistan was the fastest urbanized country which requires modern building infrastructure with the use of modern technology for the facility of the people.
The Minister said every great architect have vision to change the mind of people through its practical vision and build new towns and infrastructure of the modern buildings.
Ahsan Iqbal said the government is fully focussed on modernizing the countries infrastructure and build small green cities in different region of the country.
He said that Pakistan has huge human resources potential gifted with talented, passionate and skilled youth to brought overall change in society.
He added that the government is committed to give employment and business opportunity to the youth for development and prosperity of the nation.
The Minister said “founder of Pakistan, Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah was architect of our freedom, who gave us vision to change our life in better way”.
He said that countries like China, Malaysia, South Korea designed their decades long vision and gave them practical shape for the development and prosperity.
He added that the government has started work on vision 2025 to focus on major things including energy, infrastructure and education.
Ahsan Iqbal said the government has undertaken many projects to expand energy resources for bringing economic stability in the country.
The government will also include institutional reforms and improvement in security with the aim to ensure sustainable development, he added.
The Minister said that political stability and continuity of the democratic system is necessary to achieve the development targets of the country.
