LAHORE: All the Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) filling stations will remain open in Punjab from seven days a week from Tuesday, Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) announced on Monday, Aaj News reported.
According to a spokesman of the SNGPL, all the filling stations will supply the cheap fuel CNG to vehicles from 10 am to 4 pm while the duration of Sundays would be from 6am to midnight.
Ghiyas Paracha, Chairman Supreme Council of All Pakistan CNG Association thanked to Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and Federal Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources Shahid Khaqan Abbasi for this announcement.
He said that CNG sector has contributed immensely in provision of affordable transportation to millions, jobs to hundreds of thousands of people, reduction in environmental pollution and reducing oil import bill.
He said that the recent decision would help owners of 3.5million CNG converted vehicles while relieving millions of queues on the CNG filling stations which was part of the governments manifesto.
