LAHORE: On the occasion of death anniversary of National poet Allama Iqbal, Mazar-e-Iqbal has been closed for general public on security grounds, while ceremony also not held, Aaj News reported on Monday.
According to the sources, the respective authorities have closed the entry of citizens into the mausoleum of the Allama Iqbal. However, the locals offered Fateha outside the mausoleum.
Rich tributes were paid to the poet who is widely referred to as poet of the east and is credited with sparking the pan-Islamic thought among Muslims of the subcontinent.
While talking to the media, the common citizens said that the govt should take strong security measures and beef up the security of mausoleums of the Allama Iqbal instead of close the Mazar on this special occasion.
