ISLAMABAD: The veteran Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani, has said that Jammu and Kashmir is a disputed territory and the Kashmiri people are fighting for their freedom from Indian occupation.
Syed Ali Gilani in a statement issued in Srinagar expressed serious concern over the issuance of around three lac gun licenses to a particular section of society in the territory to suppress the ongoing freedom movement,KMS reported.
“In addition to eight lac guns of Indian army, Indian government has secretly issued 3 lac gun licenses to the selected people which is a serious issue,” he said.
The veteran leader said that in a bid to suppress the Kashmiris’ freedom struggle and convert it into a civil war New Delhi was using tactics and policies to defame it and brand it a terrorist movement. He demanded that the gun licenses be canceled and the weapon taken back.
“Many of these licenses have been issued to the relatives of armed forces’ personnel and non-state subjects and these weapons will be used for the dirty games of India and its agencies,” he added.
