KARACHI: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Rabita Committee announced to observe a day of mourning on Friday over its workers ‘killing’, Aaj News reported on Thursday.
According to the reports, the party would observe a day of mourning on Friday after four bodies recovered from Karachi’s Memon Goth area of the Superhighway a day earlier were identified today as those of its activists.
‘The day of mourning’ is being observed to highlight the killings of MQM workers in Karachi, said MQM spokesman.
He also said the MQM supports the targeted operation that the prime minister had sanctioned to establish peace in Karachi, but he added that this operation continuously targets innocent MQM volunteers and other citizens.
It is pertinent to know that the bodies were recovered from a desolate location near the Superhighway in Memon Goth area of Karachi and bore torture marks.
