ISLAMABAD: National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) Thursday sent humanitarian relief goods to the flood hit people of Bosnia as a gesture of solidarity with them.
The first flight of a C-130 aircraft carrying relief consignment included non-food items like tents, blankets, mats, clothing items (jackets, jerseys/uppers, T-shirts, women garments, rain coats) , kitchen sets, sleeping bags as well food items has been dispatched to the affected families.
Chairman NDMA, Major General Saeed Aleem handed over relief consignment to the Bosnian Ambassador to Pakistan, Nedim Makarevic at Chaklala Air Base, Rawalpindi.
The Bosnian Ambassador thanked the Government of Pakistan for their support and timely response to help the flood affected families.
Heavy rains in Bosnia and Herzegovina have resulted in catastrophic flooding in major cities and landslides in mountainous regions causing wide spread infrastructural damages with a large population having been displaced.
