SARGODHA: At least eight school children got injured when a van carrying the children caught fire in Sargodha district of Punjab, Aaj News reported on Monday.
According to police and rescue officials, the incident took place in Bhalwal city of Sargodha district where fire erupted in a school van carrying more than a dozen children.
Soon after the incident, locals and rescue teams arrived on the scene and extinguished the flames. Rescue teams shifted the injured children to tehsil headquarters hospital Bhalwal.
All the injured were aging between 8 and 12 years. According to the rescue officials, two of the children are said to be in critical state.
Police have started investigation into the incident however, the causes of the fire could not be ascertained immediately.
