ISLAMABAD: The labour community on Wednesday expressed pleasure over the increase in the minimum monthly wages to Rs. 12,000 from Rs. 10,000, in the budget 2014-15.
Labour community while talking to APP lauded the government decision saying that the increase would help them to manage their house budget.
Shafiullah, a labour said that the raise in minimum wages is good initiative by the government. He said that the government’s measures to improve country economy is encouraging.
Fazal Hussain, a security guard, working in a local security company, appreciated the government efforts for strengthening the overall economy by taking concrete steps.
He said that the government is making sincere efforts for resolving the problems of the people.
He said that his whole family expressed pleasure over the increase in minimum wages which would help them.
Meanwhile, Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) beneficiaries have also expressed pleasure over the increase in the stipend from Rs 1200 to 1500.
Talking to APP, Hikmat Bibi, a BISP beneficiary said that the raise will help them to manage their house hold budget and mitigate their sufferings to some extent.
Appreciating the decision, she said that it will help hundreds and thousands of BISP beneficiaries across the country who have no other source of income than BISP.
Another beneficiary, Rukhsana expressing pleasure over the raise in stipend said that the government has taken very good decision for the poor and neglected section of society which would help several poor families.
Rukia Begum, a widow, also expressed delight over the announcement of increase in the monthly stipend.
