KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement has announced that it will observe “a day of mourning” on Wednesday for the Tehreek-e-Minhajul Quran workers, who have died in Lahore on Tuesday.
In a party statement on Tuesday, the MQM Rabita Committee appealed to businessmen, industrialists, shopkeepers and transporters to close their business to mourn the incident.
They also appealed to people across the country not to damage private and public properties on the day of mourning and facilitate departments who carry out essential services such as ambulances and fire brigades.
The Rabita Committee expressed their heartfelt sympathies with the bereaved families, Chairman of Minhaj-ul-Quran Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri, workers and supporters. They prayed for the departed souls.
They demanded of the government to take notice of the deaths of workers and take action against the perpetrators.
