The inflation that follows with the arrival of holy month of Ramadan is not something unfamiliar to us. Every year, the price in Ramadan-specific commodities accelerates which leaves the masses much worried and sadly, the government hardly pays heed to monitor this unfair price increase.
This price hike in the edibles, especially vegetables and fruits, makes difficult for a common man to afford these products. Already, the essential items of daily use are not affordable for poverty-stricken family; the coming of Ramadan puts more burdens on their shoulders to make both ends meet.
One thing that comes as a surprise to all of us is that despite this rapid inflation, the quality of food does not get better a bit, instead it worsens. Most of us would agree that during Ramadan, it’s more common to see stale groceries in food market.
Ramadan is the time of the year when the prices of food commodities should be dropped down and Ramadan bazaars should be set-up to facilitate masses, but unfortunately, the opposite of this happens and no one from higher authority seems concerned enough to fix this problem.
