ISLAMABAD: Judge of Supreme Court, Justice Dost Muhammad Khan has asked the young judicial officers to assert their judicial authority to save women folk from the inhuman treatment meted out to them in different parts of the society.
He expressed these views in the Academy Night of a one-week refresher course on “Gender Sensitization and New Laws” for Senior Civil Judges from all over Pakistan, Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan here at the Federal Judicial Academy (FJA)/ the Center of Excellence for Law and Judicial Education.
“It is regrettable that women are treated as slaves in our deep-embedded society and they often become victim of our draconian traditions. You have to exercise your judicial authority and come to their rescue.”
On the occasion, advising the Family Judges, he said, “exercise extra-care while dealing with the Family matter related cases and make maxim effort to save the Family because proper grooming of a child requires both mother and parent together and ill-fated children of broken families have no bright future and they hardly emerge as responsible citizen of the country.”
