LAHORE: Special efforts have been made on the direction of Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif in all jails for immaculate arrangements for proper “Sehr” and “Iftar” of Muslim prisoners during Ramzan.
Inspector General Prisons Punjab, Mian Farooq Nazeer told APP here Sunday that nearly 52,237 under trial prisoners and convicts, confined in 32 jails across the province would observe fast during the holy month of Ramzan.

IG said that Divisional Commissioners, DCOs, District and Session Judges, RPOs, CPOs and DPOs, had also been requested to pay frequent surprise visits to check the arrangements and standard of food.
He said that all the doctors posted in the jails had been directed to check the quality of food before it was cooked and served.
