KARACHI: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) has announced three-day mourning over the killing of its MNA Tahira Asif Tahira Asif who was shot and injured by unidentified motorcyclists a day earlier in Iqbal Town area and passed away at a local hospital during the treatment on late Thursday night, Aaj News reported.
According to the reports, MQM chief Altaf Hussain has also endorsed the party’s decision of three-day mourning but asked the transporters, businessmen and people to continue their routine activities.
Tahira Asif was an honest person, she was never be threatened, MQM Chief said. He further added that despite the threats, no security was provided to the MQM lawmaker.
Altaf Hussain demanded of the government to arrest the elements involved in the murder of the MNA as soon as possible.
