LAHORE: The government has taken a number of steps in the budget to overcome the energy crisis which are highly admirable and reflect PML-N’s resolve to control loadshedding.
Talking to APP on Saturday, Provincial Parliamentary Secretary on Energy Khurram Gulfam Ashraf said controlling loadshedding was the top agenda of the government and it had initiated 19 energy projects in the province.
He said that all possible resources including hydel, thermal, wind, solar, bio-mass and bio-gas were being utilized for electricity generation. He said that a Rs. 2.5 billion electricity conservation awareness programme was of vital importance. The 1000MW Quaid-i-Azam Solar Park being established in Bahawalpur and the 1620 MW coal-fired power plants being installed in Sahiwal and Faisalabad with the collaboration of Chinese investors would solve the energy problem.
He said that the days were not far away when the province would get rid of loadshedding.
