KPK: 5.1, strong intensity quake hit various areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhuwa, including Peshawar, Chitral, Malakand and their surrounding areas, Aaj News repirrted.
According to the Met Office authorities, the Earthquake traveling 73 kilometer (depth) in the affected areas was recorded at around 9:14 am. The epicenter of the quake was Afghanistan, Koh Hind Kush mountains, which is 70 kilometers away from Chitral.
The quake was strong enough to shake buildings, but the reports revealed that the quake did not last for a long period of time, due to which no particular causalities and damages were reported. Meanwhile, the people in the affected areas ran out of their homes to find a safe place.
