“Allahuma inni laka sumtu wa bika aamantu wa ‘alayka tawakkaltu wa ‘ala rizq-ika aftarthu.”
Oh Allah! I fasted for You and I believe in You [and I put my trust in You] and I break my fast with your sustenance.”
What a heart soothing prayer that I learned and memorized even before I was barely capable of fasting in Ramazan. These golden words are recited by all the Muslims when they break their fast on sunset. This prayer has great significance as fasting does not end unless this prayer is recited. May Allah enable us to fast throughout the holy month and recite these words full of blessings and divinity.
