PESHAWAR: The Government has distributed Rs.329,568,000 among 27664 registered internally displaced people (IDPs) families of North Waziristan Agency (NWA) at the rate of Rs.12000 per family till July 3, 2014.
According to Fata Disaster Management Authority (FDMA), elaborate arrangements have been made by the Government for provision of quick and speedy financial support to the displaced people of North Waziristan Agency. The Govt has decided that each registered IDP family will get compensation amount through Zong Mobile SIMs from July 8 under a transparent mechanism.
The Govt has decided to change present procedure of disbursement of cash amount among IDPs by distributing the money through Zong Mobile SIMs from July 8 to ensure quick relief to IDPs besides bringing more transparency in distribution of money. The beneficiary would be allowed to collect their money from mobile franchises, retailers and banks.
The FDMA has requested all registered IDPs to get free SIMs of Zong Company at earliest as distribution of cash money will stop in Bannu on July 6.
Zong Company will establish its own counters/desks near each registration camp for facilitation of IDPs from where they can get SIMs free of cost.
FDMA Assistant Director Haseeb Khan told APP that distribution of Zong SIMs have already been started and more than 20,000 SIMs distributed among IDPs and 16,500 SIMs were activated till July 3. As many as 38255 IDPs families have been registered till July 3. In addition to water and cooked food, the affectees were also provided free transports during migration, he added.
Under Govt relief package, he said, Rs.7000 per month for food, Rs.5000 for non food items and Rs.3000 for monthly house rent is being provided to each IDPs family besides Rs. 25,000 to each IDP family for Ramzan package.
Food has been distributed among 31000 families with an assistance of Pakistan Army and World Food Program (WFP) whereas non food items are also being distributed among 31000 IDPs families with support of NRC and UNHCR.
