LAHORE: The city police have finalized elaborate security arrangements to cope with any untoward incident on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.
A spokesman for police told APP on Sunday, the Acting CCPO would himself monitor the security arrangements while police would remain on high alert for maintaining law and
order and protecting the life and property of people.
He said that about 10,000 policemen including personnel of elite force, quick response force and others under the supervision of all divisional SPs would perform duties while 350 lady policemen had also been deputed on security.
The CCPO Lahore said that additional policemen would be deployed at trade and shopping centres, Eid gahs, Imam Bargahs and recreational places, while an effective strategy has also been adopted to eradicate street crimes, the spokesman added.
He said the CCPO further directed the SPs to remain in the field, conduct patrolling in their areas concerned and ensure implementation of security plan adding that metal detectors and walk-through gates must also be installed at all important places.
The officials were directed to check every vehicle at all entry and exit points in the city and keep a vigilant eye on suspicious elements. He also stressed upon coordination among law enforcement agencies and other departments in this regard.
