PESHAWAR: President Awami National Party Asfandyar Wali Khan Monday praised the role being played by Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif to handle the political crises emanating from the ‘Dharnas’ staged by PAT and PTI in Islamabad for the last couple of days.
Addressing a press conference here after his re-election as ANP President, he said the federal government is successfully handling the situation emerging due to the so-called Azadi and Inqilab marches, saying the Prime Minister was not giving them (PAT-PTI) corpses which their leadership was asking for. “I appreciate the positive role of the Prime Minister in present crises emerging after Imran Khan and Tahirul Qadri Dharna’s in Islamabad”, he maintained.
The ANP leader snubbed the PAT and PTI leaders for making politics a joke, he said, adding, asking an elected PM to go on leave for thirty days was nothing except a joke.
Negotiations are the only option to end this impasse. He also condemned the threat given by PAT Chief making Parliament “Mazar e Shuhadaa” and added that the people sitting there have mandate of their electorates.
