ISLAMABAD: The business community has feared that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) scheduled marches on August, 14 in the federal capital would adversely affect their business.
The business community expressed concerns over the frequent processions and demonstrations that disturbed normal civic life in the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
Wasim Khan, a businessmen said that the leaders of political parties must ensure that commercial activities are not disrupted, adding that they also must ensure that no public or national property is damaged or destroyed in long marches.
The community demanded that there should be some specific places for processions and demonstrations because it has become a common practice that political parties gather in main markets and commercial centres to lodge their protests,” said Kashif Abbasi, a shopkeeper at Blue Area.
Another businessman, Karim Khan feared that the business community would suffer billions of rupees.
