BASSETERRE: Bangladesh captain Mushfiqur Rahim won the toss and chose to bat first against the West Indies in the one-off Twenty20 international at Warner Park in St Kitts on Wednesday.
After being swept 3-0 in the one-day international series, the visitors brought in a number of T20 specialists for the fixture, including batsmen Shamsur Rahman and Mithun Ali along with fast-medium bowlers Rubel Hossain and Taskin Ahmed.
Despite being troubled by a nagging side strain, spinner Sunil Narine was named in the West Indies team, which has Darren Sammy at the helm, with the home side omitting batsman Andre Fletcher and spinner Sulieman Benn from their final eleven.
This is the first meeting between the two teams in this format of the game since the West Indies romped to a 75-run victory over the hosts at the World T20 in Bangladesh last March.
