DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) workers took out a rally to express solidarity with Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif here on Sunday.
The rally was taken out from Tijarat Ganj Bazaar and it culminated at Topanwala Chow after passing through different areas of the city.
The participants were holding placards inscribed with slogans in favour of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and his policies for socio-economic development of the country. Addressing on occasion District President PML-N, Rehan Malik Advocate said no one would be allowed to derail democracy, which offered solutions to all the problems the country was facing.
He said Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) chief Imran Khan and Pakistan Awami Tehreek’s (PAT) chief Dr Tahirul Qadri were pursuing negative politics which was neither in favour of masses nor the country.
He said that PML-N’s contribution for the country’s development could not beoverlooked and added when PML (N) came into power as a result of free and fair general elections, the national economy was in a bad shape and peace was elusive.
But now owing to prudent policies of Prime Minister Mushammad Nawaz Sharif the economy had turned around and peace had been restored, he added. Other speakers, including PML(N) Vice President of the KPK Akhtar Ali and Joint Secretary Naeem Khan also spoke on the occasion.
They said Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif was taking solid measures to make the country economically an “Asian Tiger” but certain elements were were leaving no stone unturned to impede progress.
Referring to PTI and PAT sit-ins, they said democracy could not be strengthened through music shows.
