RAWALPINDI: The Environment Protection Agency (EPA), under its ongoing anti-dengue drive, on Tuesday inspected 39 sites and sealed three of them where dengue larva was found.
EPA District Officer Mian Mohammad Nawaz, while talking to the media persons said that an FIR has also been lodged against the owner of a Motel on Peshawar Road who did not take notice of the breeding larvae after being informed several times.
The EPA teams also removed stagnant water from three dengue-breeding sites, he informed. The teams visited 39 points including 19 tyre shops, over 15 junkyards, and 5 under construction sites.
He said that tyre shops, hotels, restaurants, nurseries, under construction sites, and other vulnerable points are regularly being checked and special inspection is being conducted to check dengue mosquito larva. As many as 36 sites were declared clear of the dengue larva.
The EPA would continue to conduct such raids until the dengue mosquito was eliminated, he added.
