ISLAMABAD: The veteran Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani has called for greater unity among the ranks of resistance leadership to defeat India’s designs aimed at suppressing the Kashmir freedom movement.
Syed Ali Gilani said this during a media talk after chairing a meeting of the Executive Council of his forum at Hyderpora in Srinagar, Media reported.
He cited staying away from meaningless bilateral or trilateral talks under Indian constitution and so-called elections or favouring out-of-box solutions for the Kashmir dispute, as the prerequisite for the unity.
“It is high time to forge greater unity among the pro-freedom organizations to jointly defeat moves of India aimed at suppressing the ongoing Kashmir movement,” he added.
The veteran leader said that the doors of his forum were open for any person or organization that would reject the formulas like soft borders, status quo or any out-of-box solution to the Kashmir dispute.
Syed Ali Gilani said that greater unity was unavoidable and need of the hour in view of dangerous policies of the Modi-led Indian government on Kashmir.
He said that attempts were being made to change the demography of Jammu and Kashmir aiming at converting the Muslim majority into a minority in the territory.
It is to mention here that the Hurriyet Conference Jammu and Kashmir has expedited the process to bring pro-freedom organisations on board to conduct an effective campaign for boycott of the so-called Kashmir Assembly elections.
