ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Reform Ahsan Iqbal has said that Government is engaging PTI Chief Imran Khan through different political parties for dialogue to resolve the issue politically.
Talking to Private news channel, Minister said that Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf’s (PTI) long march is the negation of the mandate of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) given by public.
He said that incumbent Government is determined to follow their policy for the betterment of Pakistan and no illegal exercise can stop the government from achieving its set goals for the betterment of the nation.
He said that Pakistan Muslim League (N) government is constantly in touch with the PTI leaders over long march.
He said that the government has been trying to convince PTI leaders for calling their long march off.
He said that nobody should try to divide the nation on Independence Day.
“We shall not allow anyone to paralyze the capital on Independence Day in order to meet their demands”, he stated.
He said that opposition is scared of the performance of government and that is why they are not willing to give the government apt time to complete their revolutionary projects.
To a question he said that Muhsrraf’s case is in the court and decision will be taken according to the law.
He said that Imran’s allegations are totally baseless and it is not government`s discretion to open those four constituencies demanded by the PTI chief.
He said that instead of using power, Imran Khan should hold talks with the government to get his demands met adding he said that electoral reforms committee is working in this regard
