LAHORE: Preparations for the 67th Independence Day celebrations are in full swing in the provincial capital.
People from various walks of life are decorating their houses with national flags and buildings, city shopping centres, bazaars and all the main roads are also being adorned with flags and fancy lights.
Decorative items are in high demand these days include national flags, badges, Minar-e-Pakistan models and portraits of Quaid-e-Azam and national heroes, said a shopkeeper at a local market.Vendors have set up stalls in all parts of the city.
Printers and makers of flags, banners and badges are fully engaged in their business. They are also making arrangements to dispatch them to other cities and towns of the country.
The most enthusiastic are children who are busy collecting stickers, badges and also beautifying their cycles with special stickers.
Seminars, conferences, stage dramas, book and painting exhibitions, debates and general knowledge contests will be held on the day along with a tree plantation campaign.
