KARACHI: The anti encroachment cell of Karachi Municipal Corporation (KMC) here on Wednesday removed all concrete as well as movable property raised by intruders around the premises of Aladin Park, one of the city’s most visited recreational site.
The exercise launched in accordance to the directives of KMC Administrator, Rauf Akhter Farooqui was accomplished in a most peaceful manner under the supervision of the director of Corporation’s anti encroachment cell, Mazhar Khan.
The encroachers mainly comprising fruit and food vendors besides operators of raw juice machines did not resist their removal, however,most of their movable property including juice machines and push carts were confiscated and deposited with KMC store.
The encroachers were also warned that stern action including possible imprisonment alongwith hefty penalty may be imposed on them if found to be encroaching any other public space and reserved site.
They were also sensitised about inconvenience their encroachments were causing to the citizens in general.
The concerned officials including Deputy Director, Rehan Siddiqui and Assistant Director, Syed Mazhar Abbas along with police were also present on the occasion.
KMC authorities have announced that anti-encroachment campaign would continue across the city till these are removed for good.
