KARACHI: Pakistan Islamic Medical Association (PIMA) here on Friday announced to despatch its third team of doctors to Gaza by end of September this year.
A PIMA spokesman said there was urgent need of general surgeons, orthopaedic surgeons, vascular surgeons and plastic surgeons for around 10,000 injured citizens in Gaza.
Interested doctors were advised to get themselves registered with PIMA office in their respective cities as early as possible.
Prof. Mohammad Iqbal Khan, who has already visited Gaza twice and supervised medical relief work there, will lead the doctors team scheduled to leave in September.
Meanwhile PIMA through the platform of Federation of Islamic Medical Association (FIMA) has donated Rs. 20 million for reconstruction and repair of hospitals destroyed in Gaza due to Israeli bombardment.
FIMA and its partners comprising 15 medical associations and groups has despatched two convoys of 23 trucks containing essential medicines and supplies worth $ 700,000 for Gaza, said the PIMA spokesman.
